What?
Zocio’s certificate childcare training is a proven empowerment program to enable women to assist in or set up a childcare facility. Individuals are imparted training to gain the necessary skills to become efficient and caring child caretakers. This program is designed for women without experience in raising and caring for a child, and for women who have raised children, but lack experience in professional childcare.

The training module covers topics like – basics of child development, child hygiene 101, first-aid for babies, hygienic handling of children, nutrition and dietetics, psychology of handling children, handling tantrums, and understanding behavioral patterns. Additionally, participants receive training in grooming, personality development, hygiene, and communication skills to handle personnel. The program also includes practical sessions on childcare.

The intrinsic childcare experience of our training prepares participants to be professional and make them job-ready. Currently, especially in urban areas, there is a need for trained, insightful, and attentive childcare professionals. Our training improves opportunities for child caregivers to make a lucrative career in the field of childcare.

For Whom?
Childcare training is designed to benefit individuals aspiring to assist as child caretakers at homes or institutions, and as assistants to Kindergarten teachers. It is also benefits those who aspire to establish in pre-schools or childcare business.

Our success story in Childcare Training – eWIT-Zocio Collaboration
eWIT CC Hub is the footprint project of eWIT Trivandrum Chapter. The eWIT team had piloted a childcare facility as a social inclusion project under Public Private Partnership back in 2014. This childcare facility serves the twin purposes of providing professionals in the IT sector with childcare facilities at work and providing employment opportunities for women.

Since its inception, CC Hub has been functional as a self-sustainable model with infrastructure support from Technopark Trivandrum, and operational support from skilled and trained resources under Kudumbashree Micro Enterprising Unit (MEU).This project received the Azim Premji University’s Stories of Change – Case Study Challenge Award in 2018.

Zocio as the Training Partner
ZOCIO( then RACE) was approached by eWIT and Kudumbashree in 2014 to train and impart necessary skillsets to women from Kudumbashree and elevate them to Child Care takers of international Standards. After extensive research, Zocio designed and proposed a one-month training program for these women coming from challenging backgrounds. The training was exhaustive and covered every element to equip each participant to handle children. Zocio ensured that participants had exposure to personal grooming and etiquette, to all professional aspects of childcare. The fully functional unit inside Technopark is being handheld by Zocio from 2015, through periodic refresher trainings and is another peak scaled by Zocio in our success stories.
